As you're walking upstairs, the landing is built with railing and a little nook. My last roommate made this nook into a reading area. It's big enough for a comfy chair and gets excellent afternoon light.
There is a smaller section of the room that opens up into the larger part. The smaller part has the smaller of the two closets to the right and more than enough room for a desk to the left. The second (walk in) closet is off to the right of the main section.
The carpet is set to be cleaned within the next couple of weeks. It gets wrinkles in it during the humid summer months as the wood floors underneath expand and contract.
This is a detail of the window on the left or north side of the house. Since the house next door is white this room tends to get a lot of light throughout the day.
This is the right half of the room. The door to the walk in closet is visible, along with another view of the smaller closet.
This is one side of the walk in closet. There are shelves on both sides. The door in the back is for attic access. When I had the house insulated the attic space was permanently shut off.
Here's the other side of the closet and the unused attic access door. There is a little step to get up into the closet and an awesome antique door with frosted glass. Estimated to be from the mid 1930s.
